Dear Canyon Gate Residents,
The Board of Directors for Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 116 (FBCMUD 116) is actively working with Blackline Engineering to address and repair the damage to the sewage treatment system at Lift Station 2. The manhole system feeding into the lift station has failed, requiring specialized contractors for repairs and rebuilding.
Repairs are scheduled to begin Monday, November 25, 2024, with an anticipated completion date of December 10, 2024. We understand the inconvenience caused by the ongoing foul odor, and once the necessary repairs are completed, the odor issue will be resolved. In the interim, we have implemented the following measures to manage the situation:
- Ferric Sulfate Odor Control: The odor control system has been rerouted directly to the lift station to minimize any unpleasant odors.
- Deodorant Blocks: These have been placed to further help reduce odors in the affected area.
- Manhole Covers: We have covered the open manholes, which were previously bypassed by hoses, to ensure safety and mitigate any further issues.
- Bypass Pumps: To maintain operations, bypass pumps will be running during the day. However, due to noise concerns, these pumps will be turned off at night to reduce any disturbances.
We sincerely appreciate your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we work on restoring the system. Thank you for your continued support.
