Dear Residents,
The Board of Directors of Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 116 (FBCMUD 116) would like to provide an update on the ongoing repairs to the sewage treatment system. Blackline Engineering has been diligently coordinating with a contractor hired to work on the repairs at Lift Station 2 since Monday, November 25, and progress continues.
We understand your concerns about the unpleasant odors from the sewer system and the discomfort it may cause. Please be assured that the contractor is actively working to resolve the issue. Ferric Sulfate Odor Control has been applied, and the odor control system has been rerouted directly to the lift station to minimize the impact. Additionally, Deodorant Blocks have been strategically placed in the affected areas to further help reduce odors. We are committed to eliminating the odor and appreciate your continued patience as we work to resolve this matter.
At this stage, the contractor has successfully completed the rerouting of the force main to the wet well. Currently, work is underway to prepare for the formation of the manhole and the installation of rebar, with plans to pour the manhole tomorrow afternoon. Following the completion of the repairs, Si Environmental will need additional time to handle the cleanup.
Although the contractor is making steady progress, the estimated completion date for the project is now expected to be by the end of next week. Please note that inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances may affect this timeline.
We understand this emergency has caused a lot of inconveniences, and we sincerely empathize with the discomfort this situation has brought. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and do everything we can to minimize the impact on the community. We appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve this matter.
