Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 116 continues to invest in critical infrastructure improvements to support growth, enhance service reliability, and improve the overall quality of life for District residents. Several major projects are currently in the planning stages, while one key community enhancement project has recently been completed.

Upcoming Infrastructure Projects
Crabb River Road Water Line Loop
The District is proposing the installation of a 12-inch water line along Crabb River Road. This project will create a loop in the District’s water system, improving water circulation, pressure, and reliability. The new water line will also provide service to two annexation tracts: an 18.00-acre tract planned for multi-family development and a 60.55-acre tract that will be served once development occurs.
Lift Station No. 5
A new sanitary sewer lift station, Lift Station No. 5, is proposed to be constructed near the intersection of Crabb River Road and Tara Lane. This facility will support wastewater service needs for the same 18.00-acre multi-family development tract as well as the future development of the adjacent 60.55-acre annexation tract.
8-Inch Force Main
To complete Lift Station No. 5, the District is planning an 8-inch force main that will convey wastewater from the lift station to the headworks at the City of Richmond Wastewater Treatment Plant, located off William Way Boulevard. This infrastructure will ensure efficient and reliable wastewater transport as development progresses.
Water Plant No. 2
To meet growing water demand, the District is proposing the construction of a second water plant. Water Plant No. 2 will be located west of the Canyon Gate at the Brazos, near the Section 9 boundary, and south of Rabbs Bayou. This new facility will significantly increase the District’s water supply capacity and enhance long-term system resilience.

Lift Station No. 2 Odor Control Improvements
The District also plans to install a new odor control unit and complete related site work at Lift Station No. 2. These improvements are intended to mitigate odors and improve conditions in and around the lift station site for nearby residents.

Completed Project: Street Lighting Improvements
The District recently partnered with the Lakes of Williams Ranch Owners Association to complete a street lighting project along Sansbury Boulevard, between Grand Estates Drive and Williams Way Boulevard. A total of thirty (30) new street lights were installed to enhance safety, visibility, and aesthetics within the community.
To support this improvement, the District provided a one-time contribution toward both the installation costs and a portion of the initial electricity expenses. This project reflects the District’s ongoing commitment to making targeted investments that directly benefit residents and improve neighborhood infrastructure.
